Meet the Winner of Our First Limerick Contest

The NHWP Board of Trustees thought is might be fun to have a bit of friendly competition at the annual Holiday Open House. And, oh weren’t they correct!? It was so much fun, we have decided to make it an annual tradition. Plus, the winner receives a free admission to the NHWP Annual Writers’ Conference! (a $185 value)

A number of participants read their limericks to the party guests. While they were all well done, the selected winner is NHWP member author Linda Magoon. Linda’s limerick was quite clever and about something women of certain age know a thing or two. Her poem follows.

Once a middle-aged Mrs. Clause,

Was experiencing the woes of menopause.

Her hot flashes would flare,

Like Rudolph’s red glare,

Which caused the North Pole to thaw!
