The New Hampshire Writers’ Project is seeking three new members to join our volunteer Board of Trustees.
Founded in 1988, NHWP is a statewide, boutique literary organization that welcomes writers, cultivates their passion, and provides a nurturing community. We support writers of all genres and experience levels through educational programs, community gatherings, publishing resources, special events, and the annual 603 Writers’ Conference.
Our Board of Trustees is a working board of dedicated volunteers responsible for guiding NHWP’s mission, establishing its strategic direction, providing fiscal oversight, and helping the organization remain strong, relevant, and responsive to New Hampshire’s literary community.
Who We Are Looking For
You do not need to be a published author to serve. We welcome writers, readers, educators, librarians, nonprofit professionals, business leaders, and community-minded individuals who believe in the power of storytelling.
Experience in any of the following areas would be especially valuable:
- Nonprofit governance or leadership
- Fundraising, grant development, or sponsorships
- Finance or business operations
- Community partnerships and outreach
- Education or literary programming
- Marketing, communications, or public relations
- Event planning and volunteer engagement
Most importantly, we are looking for thoughtful, collaborative people who are willing to contribute their ideas, experience, connections, and time to help NHWP continue growing.
Board Commitment
The Board meets virtually on the third Wednesday of each month in the evening. Board members may also participate in committees, special projects, fundraising efforts, and organizational planning based on their interests and skills.
Attendance at NHWP workshops, webinars, community gatherings, and special events is appreciated when schedules allow, but is not required for every program.
