You are here because you want to write. We are here because we want to help you. We want to inspire you, get you started, and keep you going! As writers, one of the things we have learned about getting started is that it is important to write often, read and listen to as many different voices as possible, and study the works of other writers. The genre you choose is up to you, but the process we are about to describe is the same process your favorite authors have used in creating their own work.
Creative writing is a combination of education, life experience, and intuition. It’s an organic process. Therefore, it is important to expose yourself to as many models of writing and techniques as you can. After a while, through osmosis, and many rewrites, you’ll find yourself intuitively cultivating your own style and techniques to express your experiences and ideas.
