NHWP Writing Lab with Gledé Browne-Kabongo Genres:  Thriller — Crime, Psychological, Suspense, and YA

High Stakes, Ticking Clocks and Killer Twists: Building Blocks for Writing Success in the Thriller Genre

Are you frustrated with your thriller work in progress? Are you considering throwing in the towel?  Not so fast. All you may need is to be pointed in the right direction. In this writing lab, multi award-winning psychological thriller author Gledé Browne Kabongo will review the first ten pages of your work in progress and provide constructive, professional feedback you can implement right away to strengthen your work.

She will help you break down the anatomy of great thriller writing including how to craft compelling characters, masterful plots, page-turning prose, nail-biting suspense, killer twists, and powerful scenes.

If you are uncertain whether your work fits neatly into the thriller category, don’t worry.  Gledé will walk you through popular thriller sub-genres such as crime, psychological, suspense, and YA, and their definitions and common tropes.

“Glede Kabongo is a very inspiring person. She is deeply knowledgeable in her subject, mystery stories, and she imparts her knowledge in a professional yet fun way. She loves taking questions from her students, and always takes her role as instructor very seriously. After all, we are there to gain insights from an established author, and she makes her class information accessible to all.

Although I work in a different genre, the basics of good writing are universal. Glede is a wonderful teacher for anyone” …NHWP Member Bill Georato
