April Literary Salon with Beth Ann Hooper

The NH Writers’ Project invites you to an intimate evening with Beth Ann Hooper, an award-winning poet, writer, and filmmaker. Hooper’s debut novel, The Roots That Clutch, has garnered critical acclaim, winning the 2024 Independent Press Award for Book Cover Design and Distinguished Favorite in World Literature. It was also named a Distinguished Favorite in World Literature by the NYC Big Book Award.

Beyond her success as a novelist, Hooper is the producer of the award-winning short film adaptation of The Roots That Clutch and associate producer of the internationally acclaimed Dutch documentary In the Interest of the Child.

During this special literary salon, Hooper will discuss her journey as a writer and filmmaker, the inspiration behind The Roots That Clutch, and the process of bringing a novel to life on screen. She will also share insights into writing across mediums and the challenges of creative storytelling. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in conversation with the author.
