Presented by Margaret Porter
Saturday November 2, 2019, 10am-1pm
How to use historical information in your story telling.
Writers of fiction set in the past, whether centuries or decades ago—can feel unnecessarily overwhelmed by the effort to weave together history, character, plot, and setting. This multi-faceted workshop includes presentation and Q&A, with presenter and group feedback (if desired) on materials submitted in advance. Multi-published and bestselling author Margaret Porter will share research techniques, explore the various historical fiction subgenres, offer up-to-date market information, and discuss publication options for completed manuscripts. Open discussion is encouraged and handouts will be provided.
Note: If you send your submission to Margaret in advance of the workshop, please send your materials to programs@nhwritersproject.org with “Historical Workshop Submission” as the subject line of your email.
