February 7, 2019, 7-8pm
This offering is a webinar that can be accessed from the comfort of your own home or office. Romance author, Emma Leigh Reed is presenting Up the Ante with GMC: Writing Conflict in Romance Fiction. GMC stands for Goal, Motivation, and Content on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 7 – 8 p.m.
The focus of the presentation is the development of conflict as a driving force behind the plot. “I enjoy building tortured characters that have a hard time trusting, and then allowing the power of love to heal them. I think people need that— relatable characters that can still be healed by love,” said Reed.
Reed’s life has been touched and changed by her son’s autism – she views life through a very different lens than before he was born. Growing up as an avid reader, it was only natural for Emma Leigh to turn to creating stories for others to enjoy. Emma Leigh continues to learn through her children’s strength and abilities, which often pushes her to leave her comfort zone. She is the author of romantic suspense, women’s fiction and has co-authored children’s books.
“My hope for webinar participants is not only that they gain some insight, one nugget of information, on conflict that will help them,” she said. “But I also hope they realize that writing is love and passion. If you have that, the sharpening of the craft will come.”
Reed has written seven books plus one boxed set of three volumes, which are available in paperback or Kindle Edition on Amazon.com.
