Dear Members,
As you are all too painfully aware, the COVID-19 pandemic is having new impacts on our physical and economic lives almost daily. As a result, we believe it will be in the best interests of you, our members, if we postpone our 603 Writers’ Conference until October 17th. We did not come to this decision lightly, but we realize that for many people it is difficult to think about spending money and energy on nonessential activities during a time of uncertainty. By delaying our conference to a later time, we hope you will all be in better circumstances – physically, mentally, and economically – to take full advantage of all the benefits the conference has to offer.
In the meantime, we’re going to do what we can to maintain a sense of community. We want to keep your creative energies flowing by:
- Engaging in social media participation activities
- Holding “Writers’ Nights In” instead of our monthly “Writers’ Night Out” (using Zoom or Google Hangouts)
- Augmenting our online members’ webinar archives with additional new webinars that we will update biweekly
If you have already signed up for the conference, we will contact you to see if you prefer a refund or want us to hold your place for October.
Please stay in touch. Getting through this crisis will be easier if we can support each other, so let us know if you have ideas we can share with fellow writers. Keep checking our website for more information and to take advantage of the additional benefits we plan to offer our members.
Most importantly, keep yourself and those close to you healthy, so we can enjoy each other’s company in the fall.
Keep writing!
Sincerely,
The NHWP Board of Trustees
