Join us for The Write In, an immersive all-day writing event hosted by the New Hampshire Writers’ Project and led by award-winning author and professional Story Guide Masheri Chappelle. This unique experience is designed to help you generate new pages, refine challenging sections, and map out a clear trajectory for your storyline and character development.

Bring your favorite coffee, a bagged lunch, and a creative mindset as you dive into a day filled with focused writing, connection with fellow writers, and optional one-on-one guidance from Masheri. Whether you’re looking to push past writer’s block, gain fresh insights, or simply dedicate uninterrupted time to your craft, The Write In provides the perfect setting to fuel your creative momentum.

  • Cost: $25 for NHWP members | $40 for non-members

Due to NHWP’s transition to “writers without walls,” we must now cover venue costs for in-person events. Your registration fee helps support this initiative.

  • Optional One-on-One Story Guide Session: Each participant will have the opportunity to sign up for a 20-minute session with Masheri Chappelle. Simply provide a brief description of your story and the challenge you’re facing, and Masheri will offer guidance to help you deepen your characters and refine your narrative.
  • Networking Opportunities: Engage with fellow writers, discuss your work, and make new literary connections during the one-hour lunch break.

About Masheri Chappelle

Masheri Chappelle
Masheri Chappelle is an award-winning author, playwright, and professional Story Guide dedicated to helping writers develop compelling and meaningful narratives. A native of Harlem and the South Bronx, she grew up in a vibrant, multicultural community that shaped her passion for storytelling. She studied theater and creative writing at Smith College, where she won multiple Denis Johnston Playwriting Awards. Her plays have been performed at Smith College’s Halle Flanagan Theater and U Mass Amherst’s Third World Theater Series.
Masheri’s novel, The Oracle Files: Escape, won the 2019 NH Literary Award for Outstanding Work of Fiction. As the Board Chair of the New Hampshire Writers’ Project, she continues to champion storytelling through mentorship and literary events. In 2024, she launched PortalStar Publishing, an indie press dedicated to nurturing spiritually and metaphysically inspired stories. With her deep intuitive insight and love for literature, Masheri helps writers unlock their creative potential and bring depth to their work.
