Call for Submissions: Love Free or Die!

The Love Free Or Die anthology is now open for submissions!  Rick Brousssard's New Hampshire Pulp Fiction series continues with volume IV, devoted to romance. Guest Editor Elaine Isaak seeks a variety of love stories that will showcase the richness of relationships and explore the boundaries of New Hampshire. Stories may be up to 8000 words long, double-spaced, 12-point type, with the author's contact information on the first page. Stories may be any sub-genre of romance--historical, paranormal, suspense, inspirational—as long as they feature a New Hampshire setting.

The 2013 New England Book Festival has issued a call for entries to its annual program honoring the best books of the holiday season. The day festival and awards will be held in January, 2014 at the historic Omni Parker House Hotel in Boston.

The competition will accept entries in non-fiction, fiction, biography/autobiography, children's books, young adult, how-to, cookbooks, science fiction, photography/art, poetry, spiritual works, compilations/anthologies, gay, unpublished stories and wild card (for books that don't neatly fit elsewhere). All entries must be in English.

Tuition: $690, plus $120 for meals.  Discounts are available. 

Description: The Frost Place Conference on Poetry and Teaching brings together hard-working classroom teachers and highly skilled poet/teachers to share time-tested approaches to making poetry an essential element of the classroom.  Both graduate and continuing education credit are available in partnership with Plymouth State University.

Saturday is the big day: NHWP 25th anniversary celebration on Writers’ Day 2013 with kenote speaker Andre Dubus III.

In order to ensure you have a wonderful day, please take a moment to read over these instructions and to consult the Southern New Hampshire University campus MAP.

Please park in the Visitor’s Parking Lot 12-C’V across from SNHU’s main entrance. You will then head North to the Dining Center (Building 21), where Registration is located on the second floor in the Banquet Hall.

Registration opens at 8AM. The Welcome starts promptly at 8:50AM. Keynote address starts at 9:05AM.

On Monday, March 4, 2013, two historic literary battles took place in New Hampshire. One at Milly's Tavern in Manchester, the other at Martha's Exchange in Nashua. At stake? A slot in the finals of Literary Flash: Three Minutes to Fame, which will be held at Writers' Day on April 6, 2013 with keynote speaker Andre Dubus III and seven returning former keynote speakers. If you haven't already, register soon for Writers' Day, as slots are filling up fast.
